2013 countdown

Yes is the end of the year again. And here we go counting back the number of things we lived this year. For me one more year in Quebec, one more year of experiences, one more year of learning from life. Still in this path of learning experiences.

Here is a list of things I did this year growing.

1. Visit my friend Leonardo in his appartment.
2. Ask to join an North American College Fraternity, yes a big one.
3. Joined Toastmaster's at my University.
4. Saw the gray summer heaven in Brussels, again.
5. Get to dance in salsa in Berlin on a strand bar.
6. Met my friend Cisneros from Cuba and Martin from Uruguay a little bit more.
7. Spent my first summer in Quebec. Barbacues and summer music festivals included.
8. I reached 92 credits towards the BAIT program.
9. I got two of the most amazing artist with albums I discovered: Ruben Blades with Siembra- Marvin Gaye with  What's going on. I got a quote from one review at amazon that I liked a lot  *1

10. I also got my first Stan Getz album.
11. I learned that living away from your family and your friends is hard if you are not doing something meaningful.

12. I got to understand that distance is a very powerful fact that makes that people forget how good or how bad you made them feel. And time is a very scarce resource that is the most appreciated asset for me.

13. I got accepted for an exchange in Liege University for Winter 2014. My first process.
14. I got again to learn that time is running fast if I am to do something that I like I should do it now or it won't be possible later. Being said that somethings are more important that others. Reevaluating priorities and oportunities is essential to make the best decisions, when the environtment is not so favourable.

15. The people you met in your life and the places you have been are your choice and there are in your life for a reason. Learn from it and appreciate the good and the bad things because you learn from both.

*1
"  In 1971 I lived in a very well integrated neighborhood. We had the Romants who were Puerto Rican who lived a few doors down from us, the Sakai's, who were Japanesese, lived next door to the Jones and the Jones who were a black family lived next door to us. Mr. and Mrs. Jones were my mom and dad's best friends'. we did everything together. I'm sure we got stared at quite a bit because I guess there were still a few people who couldn't handle seeing black and white people being friendly with each other and even letting their children play with each other. I can assure you, none of us were hurt in the process. In fact, we learned a real "silly thing". We learned that all people are pretty much the same. That no matter what you may look on the outside, your soul still looks the same to God who made you out of "His" Colorless Self...because as my mother would say, Love has no color.   "
